What's New

Strawbale What??
We are presently making plans for our next cottage, and like Snowshoe it will be a "green" design. The Gatehouse units will not be used this summer as we make plans for their redevelopment and the start of construction later in the fall. The new building will be our largest and most "green", likely of straw bale construction with a "living roof" and 4 or 5 bedrooms. Stay tuned!

First Chickens - Now Bees and a Garden!
When we introduced our laying hens a few years ago they were a huge hit with everyone, particularly the kids who often helped to gather the eggs. And there is nothing like fresh eggs for breakfast! We are now making plans for bringing in bees and having fresh honey available. Our new vegetable garden will be started this year too, and in addition to our strong emphasis on recycling, we'll be offering composting on a voluntary basis.

Out of the Lake, into the Sauna...
Our new waterfront sauna is ready and waiting. What a treat. It can be an invigorating experience to take a refreshing dip in the lake during fall or spring and then follow it up with the cleansing sensation of a hot sauna. Wow!
