An Historic Cottage Resort on Beautiful Lake of Bays
Muskoka, Ontario, Canada
Summer
For many, the summer months are what Muskoka is all about. At Foxwood you will not find a better place for boating, swimming, exploring and just laz-ing around. Cottaging in Ontario started here. The area is steeped in history and blessed with clean, fresh air and with beautiful scenery. The atmosphere is so relaxing it brings renewal to those searching to escape the hustle and bustle of every day life. Most of our summer guests are families, many who have been coming to Foxwood for years. The warm, friendly atmosphere will have you feeling at home within minutes of your arrival.
"Awesome weather, great company and beautiful surroundings created all the elements of a perfect holiday. Thanks to the Wallace's for being such great hosts" KL
Spring & Fall
Spring and fall are wonderful times to be outdoors in Muskoka. It is not as busy and nature is alive with change. Watch colour return to the landscape in spring and early summer. It is a busy time for the birds and the bees….romance is in the air! June in particular often feels like summer with the lake warm enough to swim in. Fall in Muskoka is world renown with nature displaying her full palette of colour. Algonquin Park and the Dorset Tower are popular spots anytime, but can be especially beautiful in the fall when the leaves are changing. Enjoy our waterfront sauna and relax! Spring or fall you can also enjoy our off season

Winter
Discover the other side of Muskoka. Winter offers a wonderland of activities and spending it in
Jolly Rover or
Snowshoe cottage couldn't be more comfortable. Although our Main Lodge is closed for the winter there is a lot to do. Snowshoeing - we'll supply them - and cross country skiing are right out the back door. A moonlit snowshoe on our nature trails is unforgettable. Or, you can travel to nearby
Algonquin Park or to
Arrowhead Park where you'll find excellent groomed cross country trails. Downhill skiing at
Hidden Valley Highlands and tubing at
Rock Ridge are both under 30 minutes away. For the adventurous why not try
dog sledding or bring your snowmobile and hook up with the many routes found throughout Muskoka.
Maybe you prefer to just curl up with a good book by the fire and soak up the feelings of being cozy and warm and watch the snow falling outside.
Special winter rates are offered.
